UK crisp manufacturer Walkers, part of PepsiCo, is reportedly attempting to create haggis-flavoured crisps.
Food scientists at Walkers are trying to recreate the flavour for crisps that will be sold throughout Scotland and should be available in January 2006 in time for Burns Night, reported the Evening Times Online.
Haggis-flavoured crisps were introduced in Scotland last year, but the top-of-the-range product, developed by a farmer’s wife in St Andrews, was only available in a select number of shops.
