Wyke Farms, the UK’s largest independent cheese producer and milk processor, is to run its first TV advertising campaign. It will be broadcast this Autumn.

The 30-second advert will reach over 5m viewers, with a frequency of over two per viewer, across six broadcasting regions; Central, (Central West and Central South), West Country, Wales and West, Carlton London, Granada and Meridian. Wyke Farms has invested a six-figure sum into the campaign, which will be broadcast from mid October 2007.

The theme of the advert is the provenance, quality and traditional values behind the Wyke Farms brand, the company said.

The company currently uses its packaging and print advertising to communicate its marketing message.

The TV advert will tell the story of Ivy Clothier, Wykes founding family member who developed its farmhouse cheddar recipe in 1902.

Richard Clothier, managing director, Wyke Farms said: “We know that consumers value our history and are interested in our farming methods so telling the unique ‘Wyke story’ was an obvious choice for the narrative of the advert.”
