Ukrainian confectioner IA Konti has recorded sales growth of 30% for 2009.

For the 12-month period, sales reached UAH3.31bn (US$409m), while volume amounted to 220,000 tonnes, the firm said today (20 January).

In 2009, the company began producing 25 types of new candies under the trademarks Postnye Sladosti (Fast Sweets), LovelyKonti, Ulybnis and Milkolad.

Despite the financial crisis, the maker of sweets, desserts and baked goods said it “remains a central player” in the confectionery market.

Established in 1997, Konti, formerly known as Kiev-Konti, has three factories in Ukraine and one in Russia.
