German hypermarket chain Kaufland has confirmed to just-food it has resolved its pricing row with Anglo-Dutch consumer goods giant Unilever and will now start stocking its products again.
The spat dates back more than a year to when Kaufland fell out with Unilever over what it described as “drastic price increases”.

In September 2018, Kaufland removing 480 Unilever products from its shelves in Germany, including the Ben & Jerry’s and Magnum ice cream brands, after failing to reach an agreement over pricing. It also took the step of halting orders for its stores in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Croatia, Poland, Romania and Bulgaria.
In a brief statement sent to just-food, a Kaufland spokesperson said: “An agreement was reached in the talks between Unilever and Kaufland. We are pleased to be able to successively offer our customers the familiar products from the Unilever range again from the end of November. “
A spokesperson for Unilever said: “Please understand that we do not comment on confidential agreements with our trading partners. This also applies to Kaufland.
“However, and aligned with Kaufland, we can confirm that our products/brands will be available again at Kaufland in the future. We are pleased that an agreement has been reached with which both sides can again place the consumer at the heart of the business relationship.”
