Canadian dairy cooperative Agropur hopes to expand its presence in the US following the acquisition of Farmland Daries’ Grand Rapids facility.
The Grand Rapids facility will be integrated into Schrœder Milk’s operations, which is Agropur Division Natrel’s US based unit. Schrœder Milk’s president, Bob Kirchoff, will oversee operations.
“This most recent acquisition is a leading manufacturer and marketer of on-trend UHT and aseptic dairy products. It represents a great fit with our current fluid milk operations in the US and will allow us to keep building a strong foundation for continued growth south of the border,” Agropur’s CEO, Pierre Claprood, said.
Earlier today, Agropur announced the closure of a processing facility in Drummondville, Canada.
