US canned vegetable producer Allens is changing its name to Sager Creek Vegetable Co.
The firm has been under new ownership and management since February. It added the product names, including Allens, Veg-all and Freshlike, will remain the same.
“Our new name reflects our history and better positions us to strengthen our brands in the marketplace,” said CEO Chris Kiser.
Sager Creek Acquisitions Corp., a vehicle backed by investment funds managed by Sankaty Advisors and GB Credit Partners, acquired Allens after a bankruptcy auction.
Allens filed for relief under Chapter 11 last October. Another US canned foods group, Seneca Foods, was named as a stalking horse bidder for Allens in December.
