US food group B&G Foods has struck a deal with kitchen ware maker Jarden Consumer Solutions to launch Crock-Pot branded seasoning mixes.
Announcing the move today (16 April), B&G said Crock-Pot Seasoning Mixes aim to meet consumer demand for affordability, accessibility and convenience.
“More than two billion slow cooker meals are made annually, and consumers consistently seek new and convenient ways to nourish their families,” B&G president and CEO David Wenner said.
“This line is a unique opportunity for B&G Foods; it enables us to leverage the brand power and reputation of Crock-Pot, the original slow cooker, and provide high quality, affordable food products that answer real consumer needs.”
Initially, the line will include three flavours: Hearty Beef Stew, Savoury Pot Roast and BBQ Pulled Pork. Each will be available in single-serving packets that season two to three pounds of meat in a Crock-Pot slow cooker, producing meals to feed four to six people, B&G said.
Crock-Pot Seasoning Mixes will be available from September at grocery stores nationwide for a suggested retail price of US$1.99.
