Massachusetts-based BJ’s Wholesale Club, Inc., a leading warehouse chain in the eastern US, has announced the appointment of Thomas F. Gallagher as executive vice president of store operations, succeeding Ed Giles who has left the company.
In his new role, Gallagher will be responsible for all BJ’s Wholesale Club operations, reporting directly to chairman and interim CEO Herb Zarkin.
“I have worked closely with Tom for more than 15 years and he has repeatedly proven himself to be an effective leader and operator,” Zarkin said. “His excellent business sense, discipline and management experience have earned him the respect of BJ’s team members. In his new position, he will play a key role in delivering profitable growth for our company.”
Gallagher, 55, has worked in the retail business for more than 30 years, and began his career with BJ’s in 1991 as a regional manager. Most recently, he was the retailer’s senior vice president of operations.
