ConAgra Foods, the Nebraska-based food group, has announced that it has appointed Al Bolles as executive vice president, research & development and quality.

Bolles, who is 48 and holds a PhD from Michigan State University, will oversee the company’s product quality and development operations.

“Al Bolles is a proven leader in food sciences and has a strong history of developing innovative products that have driven profitable growth,” said CEO Gary Rodkin.

Bolles was previously head of worldwide research and development for PepsiCo Beverages and Foods. He began his career at General Foods before moving to Gerber Products.
