US-based Casey’s General Stores has entered an agreement to acquire 22 convenience stores from Kum & Go.

Casey’s said today (3 June) that the Iowa stores will be rebranded to its namesake banner once the transaction is completed.

Kum & Go owner, the company’s president and CEO Kyle Krause, said the proceeds of the sale will be reinvested in the company’s more than 400 remaining stores and be used to drive the company’s long-term business and growth strategies.

“These stores are predominantly in rural Iowa locations,” said Casey’s president and CEO Robert Myers. “These types of communities have proven to be an excellent fit for our business model and we are very excited to implement our proprietary prepared food program.”
