Casey’s General Stores, the US c-store retailer that fought off a takeover attempt from Canadian rival Couche-Tard, is to buy 19 outlets in Illinois from Harper Oil Co.

The company said yesterday (12 October) that the stores, acquired for an undisclosed sum, would be converted to the Casey’s banner. The deal is expected to close in four weeks time.

“These locations are a perfect fit for us operationally,” said Casey’s president and CEO Robert Myers.
