ConAgra Foods has launched a low-fat Orville Redenbacher’s popcorn line in the US.

The company is emphasising its new Pop Crunch line is a healthier snack than rival products. Announcing the launch, ConAgra said the product has “half the fat of [a] leading brand of regular potato chips”.

Daniel Marple, vice president and general manager of Orville’s Redenbacher popcorn, added: “We know consumers looking for a better for you snack don’t want to sacrifice delicious taste. Pop Crunch delivers a satisfying grab-and-go snack that is full of flavour but lower in fat, and continues Orville Redenbacher’s history of offering premium popcorn.”

The line contains flavours including cheddar and caramel mix; as well as white and sharp cheddar. It is on sale for US$1.29 for a 2.1oz bag and US$2.99 for a 5oz bag.
