Cracker Barrel Old Country Store is seeing its retail products hit US outlets this week after a deal with Kraft Foods Group, which launched a trademark lawsuit against the US restaurant chain.

Products including bacon, ham and lunch meat will be sold under the brand CB Old Country Store after an agreement with Kraft, which has been selling cheese under the Cracker Barrel brand since 1954.

CBOCS announced plans for branded retail products last year through a venture with US meat processor Smithfield Foods.

Kraft filed a lawsuit against CBOCS in February; in July a US court issued a preliminary injunction against the restaurant chain from selling products in retail stores.

“Extending our brand beyond our physical locations is an important component of our strategic plan,” CBOCS president and CEO Sandra Cochran said.
