The body representing the US dairy manufacturing sector has named its senior vice president of legislative affairs.
The International Dairy Foods Association (IDFA) has appointed Jerry Slominski to the post. Slominski succeeds Chip Kunde who left the Washington DC-based organisation in August.
Slominski will be responsible for managing all of the association’s legislative, political and economic activities.
Slominski was most recently senior director of legislative programmes at the Nuclear Energy Institute, where he designed and implemented policy and legislative strategy.
“Jerry combines strong contacts and experience in the lobbying community with a good grasp for what it takes to work for a business-focused trade association,” said Connie Tipton, IDFA president and CEO. “And coming from Nebraska, he certainly understands the importance of agriculture programmes.”
