The US-based company said Zuroweste will “lead the development of new product offerings” within the division’s portfolio, which includes Dean’s milk and Mountain High yoghurt.

The move for Zuroweste is the second key appointment at Dean Foods’ dairy division in a matter of weeks. Last month, Dean Foods president and CEO Gregg Engles assumed “direct responsibility” for the company’s dairy division following the departure of Alan Bernon.

The business has suffered as the price of raw milk continues to soar. Profits from the division fell during the second quarter, leading to a drop in company earnings for the first half of the year.

Engles said Zuroweste would bring “a wealth of experience and deep expertise” to Dean Foods. “As we begin to coordinate and bring consistency to our marketing efforts across the country, Rick’s record of success in the beverage industry will serve us well.”
