Some 16 dairy farmers across four US states claim Dean has used its network of milk co-operatives to run a monopoly in the south-east of the country.
Dean said it is studying the lawsuit but believes its action is line with competition regulations.
“The company is currently involved in a thorough review of the litigation,” Dean told just-food today (11 July). “We are confident that our practices are fully compliant with antitrust laws.”
