Belgian retailer Delhaize has signalled plans to shake up its supply chain in the US.
The company has appointed an executive from one of its US retail chains, Food Lion, to oversee the creation of a supply network for all its banners in the country.
Mark Messier, vice president of retail services at Food Lion, will take the role.
Messier joined Food Lion in 2001 and has also served as director of the deli/bakery category and regional vice president of operations.
Messier will be replaced as vice president of retail services by Greg Finchum, Food Lion’s director of retail labour and standards.
