Dole Food Company, which produces and markets fresh fruit and vegetables, has promoted Peter Gilmore to the position of vice-president, Eastern Seaboard Sourcing.

Gilmore will be based in North Carolina and will be responsible for sourcing product on the east coast of the US for Dole’s North American Fresh Fruit Division, Worldwide Vegetable Division and the Worldwide Packaged Foods Division.


“Pete assumes a very important role as Dole expands its physical presence in North Carolina,” said Dole’s president and chief operating officer Richard Dahl. “Dole is committed to sourcing various fruits and vegetables from North Carolina and the region to support its operations.”


Gilmore has been with Dole since 1979 when he joined the company as a management analyst in Limon, Costa Rica. In 1981, he was appointed controller for Dole’s operations in Ecuador, and has held a number of management positions in the company since then. Most recently, he was vice president, business development for the Dole Fresh Fruit unit in Westlake Village, California.
