US snack maker John B. Sanfilippo & Son (JBSS) has appointed food industry consultant Rob Sarlls to the role of vice president, strategy and business development.
Sarlls’ previous posts include stints at Rabobank and RBC Capital Markets. He also founded Strategic Food Capital Partners, a merchant banking firm advising private equity firms with interests in the food industry.
JBSS has create a new role at the business and Sarlls will help he company look for “new business opportunities” at home and abroad, including acquisitions, joint ventures and alliances.
“The company is at a pivotal point in its history where we are focusing more on expansion and growth, both in the US and globally,” said CEO Jeffrey Sanfilippo.
