When contacted by Just Food, Dan-O’s declined to disclose the size of any stake taken, the structure of the deal or how much the company has now raised so far.
However, it confirmed founder Dan Oliver and CEO Phillip Crosby will continue to run the business.
Oliver founded Dan-O’s in 2015. The brand’s range includes seasonings, as well as specialist cheese-infused toppings and blends.
A Dan-O’s spokesperson said the new funds will support the firm’s “next chapter of growth”.
The proceeds will be used to launch product formats and try to widen the availability of the company’s products across retail and online.
At the moment, Dan-O’s products are available at retailers including Walmart, Kroger and Publix. The company also sells via Amazon and its own website.
Dan-O’s has already begun moving beyond dry seasonings. Earlier this year, it moved into meal starters and dip mixes, including the launch of Dan-O’s Chili and Dan-O’s Tac-O seasoning packets.
The company said more products are in the pipeline, “including formats fans won’t see coming” but declined to share further details.
Dan-O’s works with co-manufacturers the spokesperson said it will keep partnering with firms that can “scale with the brand”.
The investment is The Newcastle Network’s first in food. In a statement, managing partner Chris Casgar said: “Dan has built far more than a seasoning company. He’s created a platform that inspires millions of home cooks to experiment, create and enjoy cooking more.
“That’s rare, it’s incredibly difficult to replicate and it’s exactly the kind of business we’re looking to back as we build our food portfolio. The Dan-O’s investment is just the beginning.”
Dan-O’s declined to disclose its annual net sales or profit, or its forecasts for 2026.
