Del Monte Foods has named former Campbell Soup Co. and Procter & Gamble executive Bill Pearce chief marketing officer.


Pearce, 45, will head Del Monte’s marketing team and report to Nils Lommerin, the company’s COO.


He joins the US food group from Taco Bell where he held a similar role. Pearce has also been vice president of marketing at Campbell, while he spent 11 years at P&G in various marketing roles.


Chairman and CEO Rick Wolford said: “We’ve created the position of chief marketing officer to further elevate our focus on marketing strategy, innovation, and execution across our portfolio.”
