PepsiCo snack food division Frito-Lay North America yesterday (27 June) announced further management appointments, naming Jaya Kumar as chief marketing officer. Kumar will report directly to FLNA president and CEO Al Carey.
Kumar will take on responsibility for traditional marketing activities across Frito-Lay North America’s brand portfolio – overseeing advertising, media, insights and innovation for the company’s savoury snacks.
“I look forward to Jaya’s building on his strong background in consumer insights and innovation to accelerate the growth of our world class brands and help better transform our portfolio to meet consumer needs,” said Carey.
Kumar joined Frito-Lay in 2005 as vice president of consumer strategy, insights and growth and more recently served as group vice president of insights, innovation and shopper marketing. In this role, FLNA said, Kumar accelerated innovation and developed consumer insights. Before coming to Frito-Lay Kumar clocked up 18 years of international and domestic brand management and sales experience.
