Minneapolis-based General Mills has announced the voluntary recall of 13-ounce boxes of Golden Grahams because the cereal may contain milk, a potential allergen, without listing it as an ingredient.

There has been one report of an allergic reaction associated with this product.


This voluntary recall includes 13-ounce boxes of Golden Grahams produced with the following use by dates: 20JUL07WC, 21JUL07WC, 22JUL07WC, 23JUL07WC, 24JUL07WC, 25JUL07WC and 26JUL07WC.


The company had been in the process of changing its Golden Grahams cereal formula to remove milk. Consequently, cereals produced prior to these dates list milk as an ingredient. Golden Grahams cereals produced after the dates listed do not include milk and are not subject to the recall. The company emphasised that no other of its cereals are affected by the recall.
