US gluten-free baking mixes and snacks supplier Pamela’s Products is branching into pasta.

Pamela’s Products is launching a range of pasta and pasta-based meals. The product will start to roll out this month.

“As we round the corner towards 30 years in business, we continue to see opportunities to grow into new categories while maintaining our focus on great-tasting gluten-free foods made with clean ingredients,” Pamela Giusto-Sorrells, the founder of Pamela’s Products, said. “Pasta is a personal passion of mine because of my Italian heritage. There are other gluten-free pastas on the market but we’re confident ours has exceptional taste and texture with the added bonus of plant-based protein.”

The company’s dried pastas are organic. It is made with white rice and sprouted brown rice flour, while containing plant-based protein derived from peas. The pastas will be offered in four varieties – penne, rotini, elbows and spaghetti – at a suggested retail price of US$4.29 per eight-ounce box.

The range of meals comprises pasta paired with packets of sauce made with cheese. The line, which includes mac n’ cheese, will be available nationwide starting early this autumn with a suggested retail price of $4.79 per five-ounce box.
