GoMacro, a US-based producer of macrobiotic foods, has unveiled a range of gluten-free energy bars.
The Wisconsin-based firm has decided to launch the bars after requests from consumers. Co-founder Jolanta Sonkin said: “Celiac disease and the associated inability to consume grain products is more widespread than most people think.”
Celiac disease is a life-long condition that affects the gastrointestinal tract. Even the slightest trace of gluten can make a celiac ill.
The energy bars come in three flavours – cashew butter, tahini date and peanut protein.
