HJ Heinz, Danone and Nestle have all been linked to bids for Pfizer’s infant nutrition business.

Citing unnamed sources, The New York Post said the three food giants have all made first-round bids for the US pharmaceutical giant’s baby food unit.

Heinz, Danone and Nestle have all been touted as potential buyers of the business since Pfizer said it was considering the “strategic alternatives” for the unit in July.

When contacted by just-food, a spokesperson for Heinz said the US company “does not comment on rumours or speculation”.

A spokesperson for Nestle said the Swiss food giant does not comment on “market rumours”.

Officials at Danone and Pfizer could not be reached for immediate comment.
