US baby-food firm Beech-Nut, an arm of Swiss food company Hero Group, has launched a range of co-branded baby food with apple sauce maker Mott’s.

Beech-Nut said yesterday (2 August) that the deal comes on the back of partnerships with General Mills via the US food giant’s Green Giant brand and with fresh produce company Chiquita Brands International.

“It is our goal at Beech-Nut to continue to create nutritious meals with natural ingredients – including wholesome branded ingredients such as Mott’s apple sauce, Chiquita bananas and Green Giant vegetables – that moms know and trust,” said Evan Eckman, chief marketing officer for Hero’s North American arm.

“We’re proud to have selected varieties of Beech-Nut purées to feature the Mott’s brand. Mott’s shares our lasting commitment to childhood nutrition, superior quality standards, and delicious-tasting foods.”

The range does not use any artificial colours, flavours or preservatives.
