Hormel Foods is launching Hormel Compleats, a line of “hearty” breakfast meals that can be prepared in 60 seconds.
The line includes four varieties: bacon breakfast scramble, sausage breakfast scramble, roasted potatoes & sausage gravy and apple cinnamon oatmeal.
Hormel said the shelf-stable microwavable range include real eggs. This, the company suggested, is a category “first” that is the result of five years’ of research.
“We know that consumers are looking for a substantial breakfast option, but need a product that also fits in with their fast-paced lifestyle – and we saw an opportunity to deliver on both,” said Luis Marconi, vice president of grocery products marketing at Hormel Foods.
“It took five years to innovate the technology necessary to have a great-tasting shelf-stable egg. The process dramatically shortens the cooking time to make it possible to produce items with eggs and dairy that taste great.”
Hormel Completes are available at grocery stores throughout the US with an RRP of $2.18 to $2.99.
