This summer, Hormel will be building “an addition” to its Spam plant in Fremont for new equipment to make its range of products.

“The project is designed to increase production capacity for the Spam family of products and is expected to be completed by the summer of 2012,” the spokesperson added.

She declined to comment on whether Hormel would be adding jobs at its HQ or at the Fremont plant once the projects are complete.
