US meat giant Tyson Foods is in talks with India’s Godrej Agrovet over a poultry processing venture in the country.

Tyson and Godrej already work together in India through local poultry breeding business Cobb-Vantress.

A spokesperson for Tyson confirmed the company is in talks with Godrej over a processing venture but declined to comment further.

“We are in conversations with Godrej. However, it remains premature to report any agreement between the two companies. We will make a formal announcement if and when such an agreement is reached,” the spokesperson said.

Adi Godrej, chairman of Godrej Agrovet parent Godrej Industries, refused to comment on the discussions when contacted by just-food.
