Interstate Bakeries, the maker of Hostess Twinkies and Wonder Bread, has filed a new plan for exiting more than four years of Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
Interstate detailed more than US$600m in financing it would receive from lenders and investors in its filing to the US Bankruptcy Court in Kansas City.
The filing followed a hearing in which a federal bankruptcy judge approved the financing commitments and a compromise with its unsecured creditors, who had opposed the plan.
A bankruptcy judge will consider the plan on 30 October and decide whether it should be sent to Interstate’s creditors for their review and approval.
