J & J Snack Foods, the US snack maker, has posted “record” sales and earnings for its fiscal third quarter.


The company booked a 38% jump in net earnings to US$14.9m for the three months to 27 June. Sales rose 2% to $179.8m. Operating income was up 40% at US$24.4m.


President and CEO Gerald Shreiber said: “We had strong performances from our food service and retail grocery groups during the quarter.”
