US-based J & J Snack Foods Corp. has named Vincent A. Melchiorre as executive vice president with responsibility for the sales and marketing.
The appointment takes effect from 11 June, with Melchiorre reporting to president and CEO Gerald B. Shreiber.
Melchiorre is also to assume the role of chief marketing officer, replacing Michael Karaban, who had previously announced that he intended to retire in October.
Melchiorre was most recently senior vice president of Weston Foods USA, overseeing the company’s $1.2bn bread and roll business, having previously been with the Tasty Baking Company and The Campbell Soup Company.
“Vince has a proven record for winning in the marketplace,” Shreiber said. “He has demonstrated leadership and the ability to grow brands and businesses. We are delighted to have him join J & J as we plan our ongoing growth.”
