J&J Snack Foods today (23 April) posted an 81% jump in second quarter earnings, boosted by lower costs and sales gains.

The maker of Super Pretzels reported a net profit of US$7.2m, up from $4m for the same period of last year.

Second quarter sales totaled $149.4m, up 4% from $144.2m.
