US jam, jelly and peanut butter maker JM Smucker has elected Alex Shumate, Mark Smucker, and Paul Smucker Wagstaff to its board of directors.
Shumate, 58, is the managing partner of the Columbus, Ohio office of the law firm of Squire Sanders & Dempsey. He currently serves as a corporate board member for Cincinnati Bell and previously served as director of gum giant Wrigley.
Smucker, 39, the great-great-grandson of founder JM Smucker, joined the company in 1997, and is president of special markets for the company. He also has responsibility for the company’s information services group.
Wagstaff, 39, is president of the company’s US retail – oils and baking group. He began his career with the company in 1996 and is also a great-great-grandson of JM Smucker.
