US-based yoghurt group Chobani has appointed former Kellogg executive David Denholm as president and COO.

Denholm, who spent a decade at Kellogg, will join Chobani, which leads the growing Greek yoghurt category in the US, later this month.

Denholm’s most recent role at Kellogg was president of the company’s US Morning Foods division. His appointment is set to allow Chobani founder Hamdi Ulukaya to focus on setting out company strategy, the yoghurt firm said.

Chobani said Denholm’s experience of the US consumer packaged goods market and of “key growth markets like Asia” was a “boon” for the business.

Denholm will be joined by a second new executive, Peter McGuinness, who has been named chief marketing and brand officer. McGuinness will join from advertising agency DDB Chicago, where he was CEO.

Ulukaya said: “David and Peter share my passion and entrepreneurial spirit. I am confident their business intelligence, knowledge of the global consumer and vision is exactly what we need as we continue to grow our business.”
