Acquisition teams at Kraft Foods’ international offices have been told they should be identifying targets on their own, according to a press report.
The Wall Street Journal said that the food giant’s chief executive Irene Rosenfeld is handing international managers more power to make deals as the company looks to expand through acquisitions.
The report said that Kraft was eyeing Russia, Ukraine, Brazil and Mexico in particular.
As well as looking for targets that would fit in with Kraft’s core business, executives also now had the opportunity to go after joint ventures and licensing deals, the Journal said.
