Kroger has bought some 18 stores in the US state of Indiana from fellow retail group Scott’s Food & Pharmacy.
Kroger, one of the largest retail chains in the US, said today (19 April) that the stores will become part of its central division, based in Indianapolis.
The unit operates 145 stores under the Kroger, Hilander, Owen’s and Pay Less in five US states. Robert Moeder, president of Kroger’s central division, said the company Kroger intends to continue operations under the Scott’s banner.
Financial details surrounding the deal were not disclosed.
