Cincinnati-based grocery retailer Kroger has announced the promotion of Mark Prestidge to the position of president of Kroger’s Delta Division, with effect from 1 October 2006.
Prestidge was previously vice president of operations for Kroger’s Southwest division, and has held a number of management roles in the supermarket sector.
“Mark brings more than 32 years of retail and division management experience to his new position,” said Kroger’s president and chief operating officer Don McGeorge. “His leadership in day-to-day operations both at Kroger and with other retailers will benefit our associates and customers in the Delta division.”
Kroger’s Delta division, based in Memphis, includes 111 Kroger stores in Arkansas, Kentucky, Mississippi, Missouri and Tennessee.
Prestidge succeeds Richard Tillman who recently announced his retirement after a 42 years with Kroger.
