US retailer Kroger has ratified an agreement with the United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW) over new staff contracts.

The agreement covers over 12,000 Kroger associates who work in 118 stores in Michigan.

Rick Going, president of Kroger said: “We thank our associates for their focus on serving our customers during this process. Kroger and the UFCW worked together to reach an agreement that provides our associates one of the best total compensation packages in our industry in Michigan.

“We look forward to continuing to provide quality jobs for our associates and a great shopping experience for our customers,” he added.
