The Kroger Co has reached a tentative agreement on a new contract with the United Food & Commercial Workers Union Local 1995 in Nashville, Tennessee.

The tentative agreement covers more than 8,500 Kroger associates who work in 94 stores in and around Nashville and Knoxville, Tennessee and Huntsville, Alabama.

The UFCW will present the tentative agreement to its members for consideration. Details of the tentative agreement are not being released pending ratification.

The company did not reveal details of the package.

However, a statement from the union said: “UFCW Local 1995 members stuck together in solidarity through months of negotiations to achieve a fair contract with Kroger – one with affordable, quality health care, wages that pay the bills, and a secure retirement. They reached that goal with an agreement that includes: significant health care improvements for full-time and part-time workers; pension security and significant improvements in wages in all areas of the agreement.”
