Cracker Barrel Old Country Store has recalled 5-ounce bags of its chocolate-covered almonds and 5-ounce bags of its chocolate double-dipped peanuts because of an error in labelling.

The retailer and restaurant operator said the product labelled as containing chocolate-covered almonds may contain chocolate double-dipped peanuts, while the product labelled as containing chocolate double-dipped peanuts may contain chocolate-covered almonds.

“People who have an allergy or a severe sensitivity to peanuts or almonds run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products,” the company said.

The affected products were available at all Cracker Barrel Old Country Store locations across 41 states. However, the company said that no illnesses or allergic reactions had been reported.

Cracker Barrel Old Country Store said the problem had been caused by a temporary breakdown in the supplier’s labelling and packaging processes but that the error was limited in scope with no other food products affected.
