US egg producer Land O’Lakes today (1 March) booked a dip in net earnings for fiscal 2010.
The company said that net earnings slid to US$178m, down from $10.4m in 2009. However, Land O’Lakes emphasised that the result represented the second highest earnings in the group’s history.
Chris Policinski, Land O’Lakes president and chief executive officer, said that during the fiscal the company took action to mitigate the negative impact of the “challenging” economic conditions. “We took action to strengthen our capabilities and competitiveness, which helped Land O’Lakes manage through these difficult marketplace conditions,” he said.
