US food group Michael Foods is looking to up capacity at its plant in Nebraska.

The company is spending US$33m on adding production and storage space at the site in Wakefield.

Michael Foods said the investment would improve efficiency but not create any jobs. “However, the expansion will build our overall production capacity and we expect it to generate additional revenues for the company,” plant manager Joe Clevenger said.

“This investment will address existing needs for additional space, expand our production capacities at the Wakefield location, provide enhanced service for our customers, and position the plant for future growth.”
