Nestle has launched a range of “low-fat” Haagen-Dazs ice creams in the US, the Swiss food giant announced today (10 November).

Haagen-Dazs Five combined “pure luxury with a healthier option”, Nestle said meets a “major” consumer trend for “pure and natural” products.

The company, which owns the licence to Haagen-Dazs in the US, pointed to a product recipe that contained “only five ingredients” – skimmed milk, cream, sugar, egg yolks and natural flavouring.

Haagen-Dazs Five is available in flavours including mint, coffee and passion fruit. The Haagen-Dazs brand is owned by General Mills.
