US food group Pacific Foods has unveiled a “healthier” version of its soup line with the launch of a reduced sodium range.

The line is made with 35% less sodium and is available in two variants: Organic Vegetable Lentil & Roasted Red Pepper; and Organic Chicken Noodle. The soups are made with USDA organic ingredients, Pacific said.

“Whether a result of doctor’s orders or overall interest in living a healthy lifestyle, people of all ages are increasingly looking to lower their sodium intake,” said Kevin Tisdale, VP of marketing for Pacific Foods. “Our new reduced sodium hearty soups are a healthier alternative, without compromising the bold delicious taste or quality of ingredients that make the originals consumer favorites.”

The soups are packaged in convenient two-serving, 17oz cartons and will be available at grocery and natural food stores nationwide from September.
