Pennsylvania’s Department of Agriculture has launched a ‘PA Preferred’ advertising campaign carrying the theme “Keep Pennsylvania Growing” to encourage consumers to buy food products originating from the state.
State agriculture secretary Dennis Wolff said: “Our research shows Pennsylvanians want to support our state’s agricultural and related industries and our new marketing campaign will help consumers easily identify products that are grown or produced in our state. The PA Preferred brand includes a wide range of Pennsylvania industries and products, including fruits, vegetables, dairy products, wines, Christmas trees, hardwoods, and processed foods.”
The campaign will feature billboards and commercials that will air on Do It Yourself (DIY), the Food Network, Home and Garden Television (HGTV), Style, and The Learning Channel. The PA Preferred programme encourages farmers, food processors, manufacturers and other businesses to brand their products by using the PA Preferred checkmark logo.
“Thanks to the support of more than 1,500 members and major grocery retailers like Giant Foods and Weis Markets, it’s getting easier for consumers to identify and buy PA Preferred products,” Wolff added. “Shoppers should look for signs or tags featuring the PA Preferred checkmark logo.”
