Procter & Gamble has named an executive from management consultants McKinsey & Co. to the company’s board.
The US-based consumer goods giant has appointed Rajat Gupta to its board, the company said yesterday (12 June).
“His expertise as a strategist and his broad global business experience across a range of industries and markets will bring tremendous value to the work of P&G’s board,” said A.G. Lafley, chairman and chief executive of P&G.
The company, which produces a range of goods from Ariel washing powder to Pringles crisps, also said that its presiding director, Norman Augustine, would step down from the role.
James McNerney, a member of the P&G board, and president and CEO of Boeing will replace Augustine.
