US frozen food group Pinnacle Foods Finance has appointed the head of PepsiCo’s Frito-Lay new ventures to lead its Duncan Hines Grocery division.

Mark Schiller will take up his role with immediate effect, the firm said yesterday (7 June).

“We are fortunate to welcome Mark to Pinnacle Foods as we continue to build our leadership team after our acquisition of Birds Eye Foods,” said Pinnacle Foods CEO Bob Gamgort. “Mark’s strong track record of driving growth in food and consumer businesses will enhance our ability to maximize the full potential of our iconic brands.”

Schiller will lead the US$1bn Duncan Hines Grocery division, which includes brands such as Duncan Hines, Vlasic and Mrs. Butterworth’s.

Before taking up his role with Frito-Lay, Schiller held the positions of president of Quaker Foods and snacks North America and senior vice president and general manager of Frito-Lay convenience’s foods division.
