P&G, which specialises in personal care products, is reported to have asked investment firm Blackstone to handle the sale of Pringles.

The Financial Times cited sources close to the matter as indicating that P&G has asked Blackstone to run two auctions – one for Pringles and coffee brand Folgers and the other for the Duracell business.

However, a P&G spokesperson refused to be drawn on the reports when contacted by just-food today (2 October). “We don’t comment on speculation on that or any of our other brands,” the spokesperson said.

When asked if P&G would rule out that Pringles would be sold, the spokeperson refused to comment.
